Given the wide scope of the cross-functional and multi-dimensional practice of banking, a structured method of “Mentorship” as an approved method for encouraging professional engagement leading to development, especially for new employees and enable them to perform banking operations with Due Diligence, without Negligence and in Good Faith.


IDBITC has successfully implemented the Mentorship Program 2021; this program seeks to impact positively on staff learning and their approach to working at IDBI Bank Ltd.  Mentorship is a recognized incubation system which can mandate new recruits towards sufficient exposure in a controlled environment and hand-holding initially and can be transformational as the Mentor-Mentee relation matures with time. Given the diverse mix of talented new recruits who come from all parts of the Country with varied cultural backgrounds and education, IDBI Bank Ltd believes it is vital to retain and continue to facilitate the growth of new recruits by augmenting the existing tools and skills they have in order for them to continue to be successful.


This Mentorship Program seeks to impact positively on staff learning and their approach to working at IDBI Bank Ltd. During the entire tenor of the program, mentors and mentees would communicate on a formal and informal platform to exchange non-technical know-how and approach to banking as a career choice. For brevity, this mentorship program is structured to deliver professional “Behavioural Science” guidance and less of imparting and monitoring Hard Skills (Functional Banking & Technical Prowess)

Mentoring is relationship oriented, and seeks to provide a safe environment where the mentee(s) share issues which impact professional and personal aspects. Many rules of mentee-mentor engagement competencies have been referred and are presented with an objective to create lasting relationships. Focus goes beyond areas such as guidance in work/life balance, self-confidence, personal effectiveness and personality development.


Grade ‘A’ officers recruited through Manipal School of Banking, IBPS and campus is on boarded for the mentorship project and has been engaged with their respective mentors. The mentorship program is also clubbed with effective mentorship Training for the mentors in association with Asian College of Teachers, (a UK Subsidiary), guiding them through the mentorship project.


All Mentorship related Training Programs, Fortnightly Meetings, Monthly Reviews, Feedback and Assessments will be taken care of by the nodal office IDBITC, Hyderabad.
